Dr. Paul Davidson - Outstanding Alumnus

Paul is a proud Bubbler graduate of the Class of 1956. He would go on to earn a Doctorate Degree from

the State University of New York in Albany. He taught at Rice Elementary in 1961 and other out-of-state

schools, before becoming a Biology professor at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY. He

retired in 2005 after 41 years of teaching.

Aside from teaching, Paul is a master wood carver and builds a wide variety of items including furniture,

boats, log cabins, chainsaw carvings, hand carvings, etc. Not letting dust collect under his feet, he also

worked as a forest firefighter in the western states, was a bronco buster, served as a church elder,

president of the South Trenton (New York) Cemetery Association, member of the Trenton planning

board, chairman of the Utica Rescue Mission, and more. He is married with two children and enjoys

biking, hiking, and skiing in his spare time.

Richard Gobin- Township & Community Service

Richard graduated from Shippensburg College with degrees in Math and Physical Science and became a

math and science teacher at Carlisle High School. He then heard his true calling and went back to college

to become a pharmacist. He and his partners founded several pharmacies, including MGM Pharmacy,

Holly Pharmacy, Quality Care Pharmacy, Big Spring Pharmacy, and over 10 more. Richard was also the

Pharmacy Director for the Carlisle Hospital for 7 years. He was always available to provide what Doc

Davis and the students and residents of South Middleton Township needed.

He moved from his career as a pharmacist to currently helping people at IMA Medical Supply in South

Middleton Township. When COVID-19 hit in 2020, he played a part behind the scenes, along with

doctors, nurses, and volunteers, in getting over 150,000 vaccinations to the community.

Richard has been modestly working behind the scenes as a benefactor to the local community. He has

given so much, including simple things like water for the football team and Foundry Day personnel,

donations for the Bubbler Foundation and Amelia Given auctions, financial support for local

organizations, and more. When Doc Davis asked Richard to serve on the newly formed Bubbler

Foundation, Richard accepted. He became an Emeritus member upon retiring from the Board.
